Item Number 9 - Approx. Value: $275

Narrative by Guisepi

As for trading the bike, here are the specs on the Specialized bike, coming from me (not a specialist):

It is red and black with front shocks and 27 gears. It seems to ride and shift right, and I just got a tune-up done on it. The pedals are designed for clip on bike shoes. It has a normal amount of wear and tear, and the only real problems I can see is that the little thing which tells you what gear you're in on the right handle is broken and it needs a new rear tire. Otherwise this bike seems like it's in great shape., From talking to several people, I estimate this bike is worth at least $275. Want to trade?   SPECIALIZED BIKE

A friend of mine in Colorado, a banjo player named Zach, called me one day and told me he had something he wanted to give to me. He bought this bike in 2001 for $1000 and he wanted to donate it to aWAKEtrain. I think his busy schedule playing with the band Oakhurst probably kept him from continuing riding this bike in the mountains (which is also the reason why he hasn't ridden trains with me). I decided to offer the backpack to someone who drove the bike out from Colorado by way of craigslist. A super nice kid named Brandon was going to greyhound his way to the west from Fort Collins, but never could get out the door (maybe because he was in need of a good travel backpack). So, he ended up paying to have the bike shipped and the backpack shipped back to him. It worked out well...
