In September of 2006 the first fundraising effort went into effect for Awaketrain under the direction of Guisepi. With the knowledge that a diesel bus is one of the major necessities for the Awaketrain project, Guisepi went to the Okanogan Family Barter Faire in Eastern Washington with one thing to barter - pocket lint - his goal being to start a trade-up system in order to get a bus. Throughout the week he explained to hundreds of individuals the vision for Awaketrain and asked them if they had anything of slightly greater value than what he had. If they did, he would ask if they would like to trade and to consider it a contribution to his efforts. In the end, he came out with a brand new $250 Dana Design travel backpack. Although the Barter Faire has ended, his efforts continue. We ask that you check out the current item (located below) and see if you'd like to take it home with you. For more information regarding this fundraising project, or to barter something, contact Guisepi at joe@awaketrain.com
